TBnet Annual Meeting 2026: Happy Birthday to TBnet!

We had an excellent meeting at the Max von Pettenkofer-Institut in Munich, and this included a celebration of TBnet’s 20^th anniversary! The sessions included a keynote speech from Clifton Barry III of the NIH, reflections on the last 20 years of TBnet’s collaborative research across the European region, and a panel discussion with the current and previous leadership.

Anne van den Ouwelant from Trauma International and Paulina Siniatkina delivered a powerful session on trauma-informed care for people affected by TB, and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to them both. Research is only as good as the people it directly benefits, and this session helped us all to remember to keep those affected by TB at the centre of all that we do in service of the community.

TBnet Steering Committee Elections 2026

The Annual Meeting also included the announcement of the Steering Committee election results. Congratulations to all those who retained their positions on the Committee! The Steering Committee membership can be found on the TBnet website at https://www.tbnet.eu/about-us.

BREATHE Lecture Series 2026

As part of the “BREATHE – Building REspirAtory and infecTious disease Education And HEalthcare capacity in Ukraine” programme at the Research Center Borstel and the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, this lecture series aims to support medical education and continuous training for medical students, residents, and young physicians in Ukraine.

The lectures will be delivered in English, and presentation slides will be translated into Ukrainian, kindly coordinated by colleagues at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
