Registration to the TBnet annual meeting, Milano September 8th – open!
Dear members, a spoiler has been already released that the TBnet Annual 2023 meeting will be in Milano, on September 08. Yes! Now we announce the official registration to the meeting.
The host, San Raffaele Hospital, Milano has reserved the room for the meeting, however, the number of seats is limited. The deadline for the registration is June 10th, 2023.
In the registration form, you have an opportunity to express your ideas on the content of the TBnet annual meeting – what should be included in the program? Let us know! See you in Milano!
Application to Horizon – TB and NCD - submitted!
TBnet as organisation and the collaborating partners has participated in the Horizon call HORIZON-HLTH-2023-DISEASE-03. Thank you all who responded to the call in the February issue of TBnet News.
The application lead by Cristina Vilaplana, IGTP, Barcelona has been successfully submitted in the due time. On behalf of TBnet Steering Committee three researchers participated in the development of proposal: Berit Lange, Liga Kuksa and Olena Rzhepishevska. Thank you all for collaboration!
Christoph Lange elected to the Union Board of Directors – congratulations!
We are happy to share that Christoph Lange, the TBnet co-founder and the SC member responsible for education, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the International Union against Tuberculosis & Lung Disease. There, he has been further elected as the Secretary General of the UNION’s Board of Directors. So, what is he going to do there?
“My aim will be to support research, development and implementations in the field of tuberculosis and lung health to achieve solutions where they are most needed.” – Prof Lange said.
Baltic TB meeting – June 2023
Check out, a regional TB meeting for colleagues from countries around the Baltic Sea.
It is jointly organized by the University of Uppsala and the Research Center Borstel and will be held in the beautiful UNESCO world heritage town Visby on Gotland (Sweden).

A call for TBnet project proposals – ongoing!
Last month, two new TBnet proposals have been submitted to TBnet and approved after a short review. Thank you to the researchers and the reviewers! The researchers generating ideas for TBnet projects are instrumental to the TBnet research.
This is where you find the Research section when you come to the page!
We encourage you to submit a TBnet project proposal in the topic you work with. The network can help you to answer your research questions. The proposal is normally 1-2 page long and structured – easy to write.
To see the proposal form and submit a proposal, log-in to our website: https://www.tbnet.eu/
When you are on the website, go to the section “Research” and chose “Submit proposal”. This is what you would need to provide in the application:
Proposal Title
Hypothesis (max. 500 characters)
Background (max. 1000 characters)
Indicate if similar studies are already being conducted/uniqueness of the work: (max. 1000 characters)
Participation of institutions from at least three different countries is mandatory for further project evaluation
Study design/workplan (max. 2500 characters)
Data analysis plan/statistical support (max. 500 characters)
Methods/Technical feasibility (max. 1000 characters)
Ethical Approval (max. 500 characters)
Funding arrangements (max. 500 characters)
Conclusions (max. 500 characters)
Excluded Reviewer
