The 2018 Memento Research Award for neglected diseases (donated by charitable non-governmental organizations in Germany) goes to Professor Martina Sester from Saarland University and Professor Christoph Lange from the Research Center Borstel/University of Lübeck on behalf of the Tuberculosis Network European Trialsgroup (TBNET). The international jury appreciated the scientific achievements and the commitment of the TBNET in the fight against multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) in Europe (http://memento-preis.de). The Memento ceremony took place at the historical ruin of the former Rudolf Virchow Lecture Hall, Campus Charité Mitte, Berlin.
